<p><b>Effects of Yoga</b><br />
Yoga, although an exercise regime, is more of a meditation form. There are many yoga classes and gyms which offer yoga exercises. Yoga helps in making the body flexible and decrease the stiffness of the joints. Its helps in strengthening and toning the body muscles. It helps in making muscles lean and shapely. The various movements of yoga help in easing neck pain, back pain, headaches and other types of body pain. It also helps curing various aliments such as controlling diabetes, hypertension, disorders related to digestive system, breathing troubles, varicose veins and heart diseases. Yoga helps bring the mind and body together, thus increasing the concentration power of an individual.</p>

There are over 600 different types of yoga positions, that can be mastered by practicing yoga regularly. <b>Yoga Types</b><br />
The most common types of yoga that you&#8217;ll come across is Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Astanga Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Iyenger Yoga. These help in giving strength and flexibility to your body and help you in getting relaxed. There are many other different types of yoga that you may not have tried or heard of. Some of them are:</p>
<p><u>Abhava Yoga</u><br />
This is a yoga of non-being. It means the power of nonexistence. It is a higher yogic practice of immersing into yourself without the use of mantras.</p>
<p><u>Buddi Yoga</u><br />
Buddi Yoga meaning &#8216;yoga of consciousness&#8217; is the highest stage of yoga. Buddi yoga represents the eighth stage of the &#8216;eight fold path&#8217; comprising of yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi. This yoga was first mentioned in the Bhagwat Gita.</p>
<p><u>Dhyana Yoga</u><br />
Dhyana means profound meditation. &#8216;Dhyana leads to Samadhi.&#8217; It is aimed to develop the self consciousness to the level of perfection. The final At this stage one works on increasing the &#8216;mass&#8217; of consciousness and obtaining power in subtlety.</p>
<p><u>Guru Yoga</u><br />
In this form of yoga, the disciple combines his mind to the mind of his teacher through meditation. With the help of the teacher one can find the inner teacher, that is, the true nature of one&#8217;s mind. </p>
<p><u>Jnana Yoga</u><br />
In this form of yoga, one converts the intellectual knowledge into practical wisdom. It is a mean to obtain the highest meditative state and inner knowledge. </p>
<p><u>Karma Yoga</u><br />
Karma Yoga is a path of devotion to work. It is very difficult to loose one&#8217;s identity and work selflessly. One only works when one expects a reward or incentive. In the Karma, state work is thought as worship to God. A person achieves stability of mind and becomes spiritual. </p>
<p><u>Laya Yoga</u><br />
Laya is dissolution or disappearance of oneself in the harmony of the absolute. It turns off the mind so that the individual does not act under his mind&#8217;s command, but according to the will of God. </p>
<p><u>Saptanga Yoga</u><br />
It is a combined discipline of the seven limbs (Sapta-anga), that is, six purifying practices; posture, seal, sensory inhibition, breath control, meditation and ecstasy.</p>
<p><u>Yantra Yoga</u><br />
Yantra Yoga focuses on the mind through the yantra, that is, geometric representations of the cosmos.</p>
<p>There are many more types of yoga that help in self realization and salvation. You should try out the different types of yoga and find out the one that suits your body and mind. Different types of yoga are beneficial in improving one&#8217;s life and also physical health. There are many yoga classes that teach great yoga exercises. <p>Yoga is an exercise which gives the necessary stress and strains to the body muscles and improves the blood circulation. The proper location for yoga is necessary to get the essence of its effect. Generally a location which gives fresh atmosphere, silence and cleanliness can be considered as ideal. This will help to concentrate and achieve the desired result. Avoid practice of yoga in direct sunlight and after sun-bathing. Although ancient times with no pollution it was ideal place to practice in open environment but such places are rare to get or far away from our residential areas.</p>
<h2><strong>When to do yoga? </strong></h2>
<p>There is no that that it is fruitful to do it in the early morning quite before breakfast. This will to build the energy required for performing the activities throughout the day. Also it generates hunger for the morning breakfast. So get up in the morning do visit bathroom and perform the morning activities, have your bath and with fresh mind do yoga. Another time for yoga is early evening just before sunset. Well with change in lifestyle most of you must hardly find the time suitable for yoga. Its not hard and fast rule to do at these times only whatever time you find free during the day go for it. Its better to practice rather leaving it altogether with the above mentioned excuse.</p>
<p>Remember that you should not perform it within two to three hours after having eaten. Relax your body by performing yoga when you feel stiff, tense, tired or hyped-up. Most of the people get excited and perform difficult positions of yoga it is recommended that you should do with things that you are comfortable at unnecessary body postures can cause problems. Just before going to bed go for prayer and don&#8217;t practice yoga at this time. Do them in your free time during the day. According to the experts yoga is not restricted to few exercises that is one must not be content with performing few of yoga exercises. There are different exercises (asana) which you must expertise gradually one by one. Whenever possible, mix and match the required elements of practice which will lead to improvement and enhancement in your spiritual growth and awareness.</p>
<p>After performing all the exercises the end asana can be the Pranaynama (breathing exercise). Meditation for few minutes can be done to wash out the tense thoughts running through our mind. Pranaynama is a must for successful meditation. Meditation can be performed at any time of day when you feel relaxed and free. Again avoid meditation also within 2-3 hours of eating, the reason being you feel sleepy and the brain also asks for rest. You can opt for Yoga Nidra to get sleep this can useful for people who suffer from insomnia. Suitable time for it is after meals. Avoid doing it when you feel tired or sleepy.</p>
<p>Focus on your exercises always remembers the motive of whatever asana you are doing. Don&#8217;t worry about your surrounding factors. Obey the instructions correctly. Try to keep yourself away from any sort of burden. Do whatever you can do it is not necessary that you must imitate your yoga expert. Practice makes man perfect. Don&#8217;t hurry through your exercises. Take your time and then go for next asana. It may seem silly telling you that always breathe in and out through nose but most of do breathe through mouth. God has given nose for breathing and mouth for eating. There is one exercise that can be helpful in such cases it is called &#8220;Jala Neti&#8221; (Cleaning of nose related organs). You can also take the advice your doctor.</p>
<h3><strong>Care to be taken while doing yoga</strong></h3>
<p>1) Anyone can practice yoga there is no restriction on sex or age. Exercises which are suitable for your age group should be done.<br />
2) Your mind should be prepared for the purpose that you are going to do. Practicing yoga under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly condemned.<br />
3) Those with disabilities and severe pains consult your yoga teacher or doctor. It&#8217;s not that if you smoke you are not eligible to do yoga does not put that compulsion.<br />
4) Yoga is practiced on mats suitable for yoga. That is it should help you to perform yoga poses, meditation and relaxation postures with equal ease while making you feel good.<br />
5) The clothing should be such that it does not be hurdle in your body movements.<br />
Generally light and loose clothes are recommended.<br />
6) All other things like watches, spectacles should be kept aside. Women&#8217;s are advised to remove their ornaments and jewelry before practicing.</p>
<p>Researchers now say that yoga is good for the cells in the endothelium, the inner lining of the arteries. It has proved to be useful in reducing the blood pressure, weight and pulse rate. With the proper practice of yoga along with meditation helps not only build the spirit but also increases a sense of self-control. <p>Women in the United States spend billions of dollars every year seeking relief for the symptoms of menopause. Common menopausal issues include hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, and fatigue. </p>
<p>Not a lot of fun &#x96; it&#x92;s no wonder women are putting so much money into treatments.</p>
<p>Hormone-replacement therapy alone costs American women about $3.2 billion per year, and that does not include alternative products like soy or herbal remedies. Hormone replacement remains a controversial issue, with claims that it increases women&#x92;s chances of getting certain types of cancer. </p>
<p>Because of the cost and the potential health risks, many women seek less intensive methods for relief.</p>
<p>A new study from researchers in India may provide some reassurance, showing that yoga meditation successfully eased menopausal symptoms in a group of women who took an eight-week course.</p>
<p>Dr. R. Chattha, from the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bangalore, India, and his research partners conducted a study involving 120 women age 40-55 who were experiencing menopausal symptoms.</p>
<p>The women were divided into two groups, with one group undergoing an eight-week session of yoga meditation while the other group received training on exercise and nutrition.</p>
<p>The yoga group participated in classes of meditative postures and breathing, and attended lectures about yoga&#x92;s abilities to achieve a mastery of mind over physical issues. The focus in the yoga sessions was to achieve a meditative state, and &#8220;slow the rate of thoughts in the mind,&#8221; according to the researchers.</p>
<p>The second group was encouraged to engage in mild exercise and attend lectures on physiology and diet.</p>
<p>After eight weeks, the yoga meditation group showed significant improvements in their major menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, insomnia, and night sweats, while the exercise group did not.</p>
<p>And while both groups scored well on a test of memory and cognition, the yoga group again outperformed the other group significantly in seven out of ten cognition subtests.</p>
<p>This is good news for women who also report feeling &#8220;foggy&#8221; at times during menopause, and possibly for aging adults in general.</p>
<p>In fact, the study&#x92;s results bode well for women who want to manage their menopausal symptoms but are leery of taking expensive synthetic hormones that may cause health problems of their own.</p>
<p>Said Dr. Chattha to reporters, &#8220;The present study shows the superiority of yoga over physical activity in improving the cognitive functions that could be attributed to emphasis on correctness in breathing, synchronizing breathing with body movements, relaxation and mindful rest.&#8221;</p>

The term is used in today`s terminology pertains to forms of exercises, postures and poses which helps one in the union of spirit, body and mind. Yoga basics help one in understanding the different forms of asana and postures which are beneficial for your health and helps in your spiritual and mental development.</p>

<p>Yoga basics include the technique of meditative breathing which is by far the most important part of yoga exercises. Yoga has a synonym in Asana which is one of the most important forms of Yoga and is directed towards the physical benefits, while few other forms are aimed at development of an individual with respect to mental and spiritual benefits.</p>
<p>Apart from the numerous health benefits, Yoga basics are also instrumental in helping you achieve a state of relaxation and in the overall well being of your body. The stretching exercises involved in yoga strengthen the body and makes it flexible. Although there are several difficult asanas and poses, the simple ones are good enough to help you attain the much needed flexibility and health.</p>
<p>The basic yoga program needs you to have a routine in your daily life for yogic exercises. The duration of your workout can vary from twenty minutes to two hours. You can start from a smaller duration and then gradually increase the duration according to your stamina level. It is not required for you to get exhausted but you should do your workouts according to your stamina level.</p>
<p>You can start from daily yoga workouts by performing certain basic postures and poses with light stretching and then can gradually increase the workout and finally achieve the target of full blown strenuous exercises. There are few yoga poses which can be done very quickly and which increase the heat in the body while few other basic positions are aimed at increasing stamina of the body.</p>
<p>Yoga basics can easily be learned at home with the help of books, TV programs and with help of audio visual DVD`s. There is no need of any equipment or instrument apart from a mat which is required for sitting. Make sure that the place where you are doing practice is free from pollution and has enough floor space. The ceilings should be high enough to enable you to raise your arms in different positions. A teacher can be of great benefit to you if he is able to teach you the correct postures of Yoga. The best time to perform is in the early morning with an empty stomach and peaceful surroundings.</p>
<p>Yoga basics are being endorsed as means of getting in touch with your inner self. It helps you to see a peaceful and stress free world free from any materialistic encumbrances. It also helps strengthen your immune system and by massaging your internal organs it ensures optimum blood flow to all organs thus keeping away diseases. The power of it has helped various celebrities get a sense of release in stressful surroundings.</p>
<p>The numerous health benefits have made it a favorite form of workout in all age groups. Its harmless nature with no side effects has been instrumental in increasing its popularity worldwide. However, if you are a beginner, do not overstress yourself and do not perform yoga at a fast pace. Start slowly and increase gradually.</p>

<p>I have always taught each of my clients to incorporate yoga into each and every workout or training session. </p>
<p>The benefits of practising yoga on a regular basis are endless but really lets just talk facts here: </p>
<p>1. Yoga, regardless of the style, teachs us to stretch properly and effectively</p>
<p>2. It allows us to develop patience and a sense of calm in our fitness as yoga is about holding the stretch and spending uninterrupted time in it</p>
<p>3. Yoga teachs us to breathe in a natural and flowing state with no goals or objectives</p>
<p>4. Yoga teachs us consistency in our regular practise. We understand that its not a matter of accomplishing a challenge, but rather a consistent practise we do on a regular basis just because it makes up feel better</p>
<p>5. With our yoga pracitse we learn that we can actually calm any situation by not reacting, but rather just accepting</p>
<p>6. Our yoga teaches us how strong we are and how strong we can become IF we choose it</p>
<p>7. Yoga teaches us simplicity but being consistent</p>
