<p>Why do you do capoeira?I guess it&#8217;s a bit of an addiction. Capoeira is sometimes referred to as both a dance and a martial art, but I find it&#8217;s actually very difficult to define. I like to think of it as more of a game and an art form than a martial art &#8211; you are competing in a sense, but it&#8217;s never about winning or losing.</p>
<p>How long have you been doing it? Two-and-a-half to three years.</p>
<p>Have you got fitter? Definitely. I&#8217;m much stronger and more flexible.</p>
<p>How do you fit it in around work? I work night shifts, so I go to classes in the evening before work.</p>
<p>What kit do you need? You tend to wear a T-shirt and something similar to a tracksuit.</p>
<p>How much does it cost? The classes I go to in York (capoeirayork.com) are about &#xA3;5 per hour, or &#xA3;8 for two hours. The correct clothes can cost between &#xA3;20 and &#xA3;30, but you can just turn up in a tracksuit if you&#8217;re a beginner.</p>

It&#8217;s a great idea to visit a retailer to try out the model you are interested in, but wait until you get home to actually buy it.</p>
<p>If you are an impulse shopper and know that you might just have to buy it right then and there, make sure to talk to the store manager before you do. Inquire about the possibility that they may be overstocked on some models. Often, if they are, the manager will be willing to cut you a deal to help move stock.</p>
<p>When you do buy online, look to buy directly from the manufacturer. This is almost always where the best prices will be. Obviously, you avoid several markups made by a distributor or retailer by going straight to the guys who actually made it. You will also save money on shipping this way too.</p>
<p>Sometimes, an online retailer will be motivated to move stock for a variety of reasons. This is a great way to get a price even lower than the one offered by the manufacturer. Look for advertised deals online. Many of the ones that seem too good to be true, are actually legitimate.</p>

<ul>
<li> Always ask the person using the wheelchair if he or she would like assistance BEFORE you help. It may not be needed or wanted.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t hang or lean on a person&#8217;s wheelchair because it is part of that person&#8217;s personal body space.</li>
<li>Speak directly to the person in the wheelchair, not to someone nearby as if the person in the wheelchair did not exist.</li>
<li>If conversation lasts more than a few minutes, consider sitting down or kneeling to get yourself on the same level.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t demean or patronize the person by patting them on the head.</li>
<li>Give clear directions, including distance, weather conditions and physical obstacles that may hinder the person&#8217;s travel.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t classify persons who use wheelchairs as sick. Wheelchairs are used for a variety of non-contagious disabilities.</li>
<li>When a person using a wheelchair &#8220;transfers&#8221; out of the wheelchair to a chair, toilet, car or bed<img src="http://www.articlesfactory.com/pic/x.gif" border="0" alt="Health Fitness Articles" />, do not move the wheelchair out of reaching distance.</li>
<li>Be aware of the person&#8217;s capabilities. Some users can walk with aid and use wheelchairs to save energy and move quickly.</li>
<li>It is ok to use terms like &#8220;running along&#8221; when speaking to a person who uses a wheelchair. The person is likely to express things the same way.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t discourage children from asking questions about the wheelchair.</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t assume that using a wheelchair is in itself a tragedy. It is a means of freedom that allows the person to move about independently.</li>
