totally possible. I lost my voice for close to 3 months due to GERD that started after being on a ventilator for 3 days. One day I woke up and my voice was back at full strength.

I suffered a stroke 8 yrs ago and spent 5 yrs in speech therapy. I sounded like I had a real bad cold when I talked. Before my stroke I sang professionally. I tried and tried different breathing and vocal exercises after to regain my voice but I couldn't seem to shake sounding like my nose was always plugged. So my therapist sent me to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who examined my cords for any paralysis. Luckily I have none but they found my cords were being burnt by the acid from my stomach. I now take Prevacid. I sound normal now and with better breathing hope to sing as well as I did before. As long as you don't have any permanent damage to your cords you should be fine as long as you take your medication. Good luck.
